Brit(a) Pop

It's so refreshing to meet someone who not only meets your expectations of awesomeness, but exceeds them.

The lovely Ms. Brita from Brinki Dink and I met last evening for the very first time and enjoyed hummus and falaffal and makdoush and ardichiwaki, and comfortable conversation and all of that good stuff. It was like I'd known her insightful, clever, statuesque beauty for years.

Brita and I belong to the same online women's group, the D.C. Sisterhood, started by Allison. Megan Jane brought me in to the fold and, despite very few of the Sisters actually residing in D.C., I've never felt more welcomed. Thank you Al Bal, Cierra, Elise, Glynnie, Hannah Banana, Jaclyn, Kara, Megan Jane, Tinzy Mama and all of the ladies I haven't yet met.

Here's hoping that we all get to sit down to a plate of tabbouleh very soon.

In the Comments section, tell me about someone whom you've met or seen lately that made you happy. Then go tell that person how glad you are to know them. Everybody likes to hear that.

It is interesting that women have online groups like this. I have not met any bloggers to this point. I am so new to this and I was intrigued that bloggers actually met eachother. It is still amazing that people do that.

I will get back to you on this one. Excellent idea. Gratitude in motition. Very creative.

Matty, we're all pink on the inside.

Yeah, Tommy Bailey, the blogging universe is still very new to me, as well. I'm sure I break all sorts of etiquette rules, so if someone knows of a blogging guide book, do let me know.

I met a blogger yesterday, too. Crazy. I've been emailing him for months and he's back from Iraq. Fun with bloggers.

123, I have quite a few typo's and I am sure that is a no-no. Now if I can only get my secretary to blog for me too.

Haven't seen anyone...been working too much. I did talk to my high school "girlfriend" the other day for the first time in almost 10 years. We tried to meet up while she was home for the holidays but it didn't work out. Maybe in Fed when she returns again. It was so good to hear her voice.

Just came back from a friend's birthday dinner. Met some of her friends I don't know. They're amazing! Hilarious, liberal, down to earth, good drinkers. Like I had known them my whole life. Good peeps, these ladies.

Matty, you got me there. I wonder who came up with that idea.

Tommy Bailey, I'll blog for you if you can get your secretary to reorganize my filing system.

FC&F, that is a beautiful story. Did she still look hot?

Hey Pretty, it's so nice to meet people, especially other women, with whom you can connect and who enjoy the well-timed tequila shot.
